Florence Strickland was born on 28 September 1909. Her mum died when she was only 8 years old and her younger brother was 5, so they were brought up by their elder sister who was only 17 herself. As she grew up she fell in love with William Coy and they married and had 3 children, Vera, Bill and Joan. Sadly my Great Grandad died in 1978, leaving his only grandson and the apple of his eye Jason behind. Devastatingly Joan died in 1996 aged only 59 years, this broke my Grans heart. Flo had many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren by the time she died on Friday 3rd August 2001 at 9am. She didn't get to meet our beautiful angel Lily who was born in February 2005 but I'm sure she looks down on her every day. You meant everything to my mum and she is heartbroken without you. I love you and miss you Gran.

It sometimes worries me that I'm starting to forget things about you, then I think of the times I had to push you up the path in your wheelchair, you were only tiny but really heavy! I also remember sleeping at your house and you'd always ask me which fur coat I wanted over me and I always said the light brown one - the softest, and everytime you got a new underskirt you'd show it to me and say 'I'll save them for you'. I miss you loads Gran and think about you everyday. I would give anything for you to be at my party but I know you will be there in spirit. I will be thinking of you on the night and all the others that can't be there. I know you'll all be partying in heaven - have a whisky (with a tiny bit of tea) for me :-)
Gone but certainly not forgotton
it shouldnt be me that is writing your first tribute as there are a lot of people who meant more to you than me. I hope you are @ peace now and watching over your family. Keep an eye of my auntie V for me as shes not been too well recently i've told her to slow down but you know what shes like she doesnt keep still. Anyway your probably having a laugh with Joan and my mum. Look after for me please and tell her I love her and I miss her more than anything.
